Cape Saint Mary’s marks the separation of the Gulf of Maine from the Bay of Fundy and also the entrance to Saint Mary’s Bay. On the inland side there is a deep, shallow bay which contains Mavillette Beach Provincial Park, with its magnificent sandy beach. Behind the beach is a huge expanse of salt marsh, home to a highly diverse population of both resident and migratory birds.
Caught on a day of spotty sunshine, the buildings on the point sparkle and shine like tiny gems.
