Massive boulders, rocks and stones litter the ground throughout southwest Nova Scotia. This boulder sits at the shore of Spectacle Lake, behind my home. Like an iceberg, two thirds of it is below the surface, yet this part is over two metres across. Pot-marked and stained after centuries of exposure to the weather, intricate patterns have appeared, adding visual beauty to the whole.
