Commercial fishing is a tough, highly competitive business. Owners need to eke out profits wherever they can find them. Overhead is high and new boats are extremely expensive… apparently, so is paint. Every harbour has its share of old, but still hard-working boats, laying alongside but ready to go out on the next tide. This old-timer, proudly displaying the Stella Maris, the Acadian flag, will re-supply and then head out to the fishing grounds off Nova Scotia’s southwest shores.
